The men’s and women’s football teams have started their warm-up games ahead of the Island Games in Orkney this summer. There are now less than four weeks to go until the Island Games began.
The women’s team kicked off the action with a good 4-4 draw against Llandudno. Menna Evans bagged herself a hat-trick with Casi Evans scoring the other goal. The post-match interview with Dan Gregg can be listened to here. Our thanks to Cymru Sport for the interview and their continued coverage of both of our teams.
The women are next in action on June 29th against Isle of Man. This will be a 2pm kick off at Airbus UK. Live coverage will be provided by Cymru Sport.
The men got their warm-up campaign under way in fine fashion with a high-scoring 8-4 win against recently promoted Holyhead Hotspur. Osian Jones 3, Sam Jones 2, Dylan Summers-Jones 2 and Cai Roberts put the ball in the back of the onion bag. Hotspur were late replacements for original opponents Trearddur Bay. We thank them for stepping up at such short notice. Ynys Môn assistant-manager Gerwyn Roberts gave this comment to Grassroots North Wales: “It was a brilliant game and a decent test with a really good crowd in attendance. The management team were really pleased wth how the players played together for the first time and took huge positives out of it.”

The next match for the men is on Friday 20th June against Denbigh Town at 19:30. This will take place at Treborth 3G. Entry is £3.
