Anglesey will host the Gymnastic Inter Games in 2015
The Ynys Môn Gymnastics Club are celebrating a successful bid to host the series of competitions for 11 islands from across the globe, plus our home island competitors, at the event at Holyhead Leisure Centre. The events will take place from 22/7/15 until 25/7/15.
The competitions will take place at the end of July 2015 and include 5 returning/new islands as well as regular Island Games competitors such as Bermuda, Cayman Islands and Åland.
Donna Jones, of Ynys Môn Gymnastics Club said: “We are absolutely thrilled at the news. Our gymnasts are looking forward to welcoming athletes from around the world and this really puts our small island on the map!”
Jersey have identified 14 core sports for the 2015 Games, of which gymnastics was not included.
Donna added: “Ynys Môn held the gymnastics event back in 1999, which was a brilliant week and the support from the local community was superb. This time around, we will be holding Junior competitions as an added incentive for travelling competitors.”
