The excitement is building as we head towards Orkney 2025 and the 20th edition of the Island Games. Today marks the landmark that is 100 days to go. There has been lots going on in the background with regards to Ynys Mon’s participation this summer. Our athletes and teams are busy with their preparations in pursuit of medals and personal bests. The YMIGA committee have been busy firming up details for accommodation, travel, kit and getting finances in place. We’re now in a position where we can confirm which sports we’ll be competing in, and these are:
- Athletics
- Badminton
- Football
- Golf
- Gymnastics
- Sailing
- Swimming
- Triathlon
As the days to the Games countdown, we’ll be revealing our squads across our social media platforms. Ensure that you’re following us on Facebook, X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram.
Orkney 2025’s organisers have released a provisional schedule which can be viewed here.
Throughout the Games, our superfans MerseaToJersey will be cramming as much sports action into their days as possible. With their (soon to be decorated) car making the journey to Orkney, they’ll be dashing around the venues trying to see all the medal moments and watching as much Ynys Mon action as they can. After being trusted with our social media channels at Guernsey 2023, they’ll be doing the same again in Orkney. So get following on the social media channels where there will be news posts, interviews and live streaming throughout the week long event.
