One year today and the games will be starting in Guernsey for the 2021 Natwest island Games.
Not only will this be Ynys Môn’s largest ever athletics team, it promises to be one of the most talented teams since the games began in 1985.
Previous IG medallists including Iolo Llyr Hughes, Gethin Hughes, Ffion Rees Jones, Ffion Mair, Patrick Harris, Sarah Livett are already confirmed whilst we are also looking at the return of 2 other medallists from previous games which should be confirmed by next month. Ynys Môn’s fastest ever athlete Zack Price is confirmed along with a long list of teammates who are hungry for success and aim to set new all time records for Ynys Môn.
The team will also feature an impressive list of talented athletes that compete to a high level who will be experiencing the games for the first time ever which include:
- Anna Bracegirdle
- Osian Perrin
- Cari Hughes
- Ryan Roberts
We also have some talented u17’s / u20’s athletes coming through in the sprints & hurdles, endurance, jumps and throws events who will certainly make their mark on the island games scene come 2021.
